Since the beginning of 2016 infant mortality decreased by 23 percent in Bashkortostan

In Bashkortostan since the beginning of 2016, infant mortality decreased by 23 percent and amounted to 5.6 thousand per one thousand live births. At the same time, the death rate for the reporting period decreased by 1255 people, the press service of the Ministry of Health RB informs.

Speaking about the situation in the country as a whole, according to the data presented on the website of Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, in Russia mortality rates continue to decline. According to the official data presented by Rosstat, for the first four months of this year the mortality rate fell by five percent compared to the same period of the last year. In absolute terms it is more than 28,000 saved lives.

It is noted that the mortality rate decreased from all major causes: tumours - by two percent, diseases of the blood circulatory system - by 9.1 percent, respiratory diseases - by 15.6 percent, tuberculosis - by 19.4 percent, diseases of the digestive system – by 5,4 percent.

Trends of 2015 preserved and strengthen in 2016. For the four months of this year, the infant mortality rate dropped to 6.1 per thousand live births.
