Ten percent of Russians receive off the books salary - VCIOM

UFA, 3 June 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. 10 percent of working Russians are paid off the books salary. Among financially disadvantaged citizens the proportion is twice as much (19 percent) than the average. This is evidenced by the data from polling by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VCIOM).
13 percent of citizens are paid salaries comprising of the officially reported and off the books parts. For comparison, in May last year, their share amounted to 17 percent. This practice is more common among 18-34-year-olds (18-19 percent) and residents of medium-sized cities (15).
Today in Russia three-quarters (75 percent) of employed people (59) are paid officially declared salary according to their own reports. Over the last year the share of those who were paid the reported salary ranged from 69-75 percent.
