Student team from Africa became world champions in futsal in Ufa

UFA, 26 May 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. The Futsal World Cup finished at Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU). The team of Africa became the winner of the Cup. Africans snatched the victory in a tense struggle with the score 3:2 in overtime from their mates from Tajikistan. The UAE national team took the third place, the press centre of the university informs.

The competition was attended by teams of Angola, Vietnam, Arab countries, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Africa, as well as teams of foreign students of Bashkortostan State Pedagogical University, Bashkortostan State Medical University, Ufa State Aviation University, Bashkir State University and Ufa Legal Institute of the Ministry of Interior.

After the completion of the championship an open air disco was arranged with music popular in the countries participated in the championship.

The current tournament is already the eighth. At various times teams of Vietnam, South Africa, Africa, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan became its champions.

Over 30 years Ufa State Petroleum Technological University prepares specialists for foreign countries, during which diplomas were awarded to about one thousand foreign nationals. Today 1,020 foreign students from 55 countries study at USPTU.
