Hydrogen sulfide content dropped to 7-12 MAC in Bashkortostan

UFA, 23 May 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Ufa region liquidation of consequences of the accident continued at the scene of the pipeline rupture in the Sergeevka village. At the site 93 people and 32 units of special equipment were employed. At the final stage works on pumping an emulsion of the two ponds located 500-600 m from the break site are carried out. The volume of pumped emulsion is 322 cubic metres.

At the conclusion of environmentalists, the results of samples taken on the night of May 23 showed a decrease in hydrogen sulfide content - to 7-12 MAC.

However, measures to eliminate the consequences of pipeline rupture are continuing, and therefore fluctuations of hydrogen sulfide in the air are possible, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Bashkortostan informs.
