Most Russians marked a rise in vegetables, fruit and meat prices - VCIOM

UFA, 11 May 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. Most Russians marked a rise in vegetables, fruit and meat prices. The survey was conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VCIOM).

77 percent of Russians observed an increase in the cost of vegetables and fruit, including 40 percent named it substantial. Quite noticeable was the rise in meat prices - 68 percent (including 30 percent reported a significant one), and dairy products - 70 percent. Growth of bread prices was mentioned by 63 percent of citizens, sugar - 58, cereals and pasta – 57 percent.

Among the services and non-food product categories most often growth of utility bills was named - 70 percent, including 35 percent of respondents considered it as substantinal. Two-thirds (64 percent) reported an increase in gasoline prices. Less noticeable was the increase in prices for travel cards - 44 percent.
