Ufa native Alexey Burenin became the Gagarin Cup holder in parachuting in the Arctic

UFA, 29 April 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. The Ufa athlete, merited sports master Alexey Burenin took part in the first international competition in parachuting in the Arctic. The competition took place at the "Borneo" ice station drifting in the North Pole. This is a unique championship named after the first conqueror of space Yuri Gagarin. The competition was attended by 23 athletes from the Russian airborne troops, CSKA, the team of the Republic of Ingushetia, Russian DOSAAF club and the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
At the North Pole jumpers competed in the discipline of "precision landing". The competition was held at a temperature of -30 degrees Celsius at the surface and the temperature dropped to -40 at a height of 1200 m.
At the end of the competition gold medals and the Gagarin Cup were won by CSKA team, which included the honoured master of sports Alexey Burenin, world-class athletes Valentin Ivanov and Alexander Prokopiev, as well as master athletes Konstantin Kotov and Valery Hyuvenen. The second place went to the team of the Russian airborne troops, which included the athlete of Kumertau aviation club master Yuriy Krasavin. Bronze medals went to representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Belarus.
