Commemorative events in honour of 30th anniversary of Chernobyl disaster will be held in Bashkortostan

UFA, 25 April 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. On April 26, the 30th anniversary of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is marked. This day those who took part in liquidation of consequences of the accident are traditionally remembered in Russia.

Bashkortostan is home to about 3,500 people exposed to radiation. Of these, almost 2400 suffered from the Chernobyl disaster.

The Government of the region approved a plan of the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the disaster. It supposes conducting cultural events, social support of citizens exposed to radiation, their health care.

According to the Ministry of Labour of the Republic, the commemorative events with the awarding medals, laying flowers to the monument of the Chernobyl disaster victims, as well as thematic concerts will be held in all municipal areas and urban districts of Bashkortostan on April 25 and 26.

The BST "Telecentre" program dedicated to the memorable date will be broadcast on April 26.
