First eco-friendly container of Ecobox Russian Project is installed in Ufa

UFA, 31 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. Installing of ecoboxes to collect mercury-containing lamps, thermometers and batteries was started in Bashkortostan as part of the "Ecobox" All-Russian Social Environmental Project. The first eco-container is installed in Ufa at 3, Krasnodonskaya Street.

The current agreement between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology RB and the Council for Nation Natural Heritage Conservation in the Federation Council provides for installation of more than 10 thousand ecoboxes for collection of hazardous household waste in the region.

Besides one of the activities of the agreement is formation of ecological culture of the population through various thematic activities related to collection, storage and subsequent disposal of hazardous waste.

"We should come to a civilized method of hazardous waste disposal", said the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology RB Ildus Yahin.
