Number of visitors to national parks has doubled in Bashkortostan

According to the Directorate of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environment RB, for the first quarter of 2016 it was registered more than 3.6 thousand tourists in the natural parks of the republic. Compared with the same period of the last year this figure has doubled. The tourist flow is observed not only from Bashkortostan, but also from the neighbouring regions: the Republic of Tatarstan, Perm Territory, Moscow, Orenburg, Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions.

In Bashkortostan, today there are four natural parks - "Asly -Kuhl", "Kandry-Kuhl", "Iremel" and "Muradymovskoe Gorge". "Asly-Kuhl" and "Kandry-Kul" includes lakes of the same names. "Iremel" attracts those who like conquering mountain tops. The main attraction of "Muradymovskoe Gorge" is a large number of caves – there are 40 of them there.

"We are working on making the Bashkortostan natural parks popular outside the republic” said Ildus Yahin, the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology RB. “Achieving this goal is possible through creation of biosphere reserves. Thus, "Muradymovskoe Gorge" is already a part of the biosphere reserve "Bashkir Ural" included in the UNESCO list. The issue of creating inter-regional biosphere reserve "South Ural", where it is planned to include the "Iremel" Natural Park, as well as the natural objects of the Chelyabinsk region, is also under consideration".
