HC Salavat Yulaev lost to Magnitogorsk in the second overtime

UFA, 23 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. In Magnitogorsk, the first match of the Eastern finals of Gagarin Cup 2016 between the local HC Metallurg and HC Salavat Yulaev (Ufa) completed.

During the regular time the teams took turns in going ahead. The Ufa opened the scoring after a throw by Sami Lepistö. But Jan Kovář and Alexei Kaygorodov brought Magnitogorsk into the lead - 2: 1.

Then Igor Grigorenko equalized the score - 2: 2.

The first overtime failed to define an outcome of the match, although the hosts three times had chances to use the penalty of Salavat Yulaev.

But in the middle of the second overtime, Sergey Mozyakin overplayed three Ufa defenders and the goalkeeper - 3: 2 and 1: 0 in the series. The second game will take place in Magnitogorsk on March 25.
