Ufa residents are encouraged to switch off the light in houses during "Earth Hour"

UFA, 18 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. On March 19, the Ufa residents are invited to join the "Earth Hour" campaign. Residents of the capital are involved in the international event since 2013. At 20.30, the citizens who are worrying about global climate change and growing energy consumption will switch off the light in their houses exactly for one hour. In some areas of the city economy mode of power supply will be switched on for an hour. The press service of the city administration reports.

The campaign encourages everybody to turn off the lights and other non-vital electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness of climate change, energy, unification of mankind. Everyone can join the "Earth Hour", thus they "vote" for a healthy planet.

The "Earth Hour" is a mass ecological campaign in the world: over 2 billion people worldwide take part in it, from more than 170 countries and 7000 cities, including Ufa.
