Project of creating plasma centres is considered in Bashkiria
UFA, 9 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. It is planned to create plasma centres in Bashkortostan. This issue was discussed during a business meeting, which was held on Wednesday, March 9, chaired by the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Rustem Mardanov. It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Finance RB, the top managers of the Republican Blood Transfusion Station, interested companies.
The project supposes a public-private partnership to be implemented in the region by PJSC "Farmimeks" together with the Octapharma Swiss Company. The company specializes in development, manufacture and sale of pharmaceuticals produced from human plasma.
The project aims at plasma products manufacturing with new technology as part of an import substitution program. The companies are ready to invest in modernization of the existing Republican Blood Transfusion Centre, to provide new medical equipment as well as modern technologies for plasma recovery. Blood products, which are now supplied from abroad, in particular, albumin and immunoglobulin, will be made from this plasma at the plant. Domestic blood products that meet international quality standards will be sold in the territory of Russia. The project envisages creation of 100 jobs.
The project of creating plasma centres in Bashkortostan is currently coordinated with the relevant ministries and departments of the republic. The agreement between the parties will be signed in April.
In addition, according to the chairman of Octapharma Group Board of Directors Wolfgang Marguerre, Bashkortostan can be considered as a potential area where the Swiss company intends to build the first plant in Russia for production of full range of blood plasma preparations. The total investment is more than 100 million euros. The plant will allow supplying domestic plasma preparations to the regions of Russia and the CIS countries.
