Russian diplomats celebrate their professional holiday

UFA, 10 February 2016. /Bashinform News Agency,Arina Rakhimkulova/. Today, the Russian Foreign Ministry employees celebrate their professional holiday - Diplomatic Service Day. It was February 10, 1549 when Ivan the Terrible established an Ambassador Prikaz according to which the agency to address foreign policy issues was founded in the country.
Today the representative offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs operate in 38 regions - from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad. The last one was opened in Simferopol in 2014. Their main task is to provide a coordinating role of the MFA in the region of their activities while conducting a unified foreign policy of the Russian Federation.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Ufa Vener Galiakbarov shared with Bashinform News Agency the information about the progress achieved by our diplomats.
The head of the representative office especially marked the Russian diplomats - natives of Bashkortostan: the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Ambassador at Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Azamat Kulmuhametov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Bulgaria Yuriy Isakov, Director of the Geneva Branch of the UN Office for Coordination and Humanitarian Affairs, Rashid Khalikov, Advisor to the Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bashkortostan under the President of Russia Rishat Khalikov.
As noted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in his congratulation address, currently the diplomatic service has to work in the environment of greatly deteriorated situation in the world, growing common threats, especially the threat of terrorism and other forms of organized crime, drug trafficking, aggravation of problems associated with the climate change. All of these threats and challenges require our joint efforts.
