"Chak-Chak Bairam" will present lovers with more than a ton of national delicacy in Ufa

UFA, 9 February 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. On St. Valentine's Day, February 14, a large-scale campaign "Chak-Chak Bairam" (Chak-Chak Festival) will be held in the historic centre of Ufa - in square in front of Gostiny Dvor. Instead of usual "valentines" residents and guests of the capital will be treated with traditional Bashkir dish - chak-chak. Chak-chak is a Bashkir and Tatar national dish, which is a sweet delicacy made from flour, eggs, butter and honey.
The project coordinator "Chak-Chak Bairam" Elena Khaziyeva shared the information with Bashinform News Agency.
"Creation of the biggest chak-chak with weight of 1100 kg will be at the heart of the event. The composition of a golden-honey flower of kurai made from chak-chak on a green background has a potential to become a symbol of the cultural code of Bashkortostan, as Swiss chocolate. The record will be registered by representatives of the Russian Book of Records. The previous record - a ton chak-chak - was established in Kazan at the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the city", she noted.
The "SOGAZ" insurance group is a partner of the cultural event in the days of the 11th Winter Games of PJSC Gazprom. From February 12 to 19, sporting events in Ufa will bring together about three thousand people from across the country and abroad. Awarding ceremonies will be held daily at Gostiny Dvor square. On St. Valentine's Day as a gift for all residents and visitors of the city under the slogan "For the First Time in Ufa - Forever in the Heart" the symbol event will be held. Treatment with chak-chak is intended to be a message of love and peace, good neighborliness and hospitality, family values and traditions of the Bashkir people and Russia to the whole world.
