Two hospitals will pay half a million rubles to relatives of the deceased maternity patient in Bashkortostan

In Bashkortostan, the Sterlitamak City Court recovered from the city hospital No.3 and the Republican Clinical Hospital named after G.G. Kuvatov compensation to relatives of the deceased maternity patient. It is reported by the republican Prosecutor's Office.

It was established that in September 2012 the woman on the ninth month of pregnancy was admitted at the maternity ward of the city hospital No. 3. After the Caesarean section she had a severe bleeding. In this regard, an obstetric anesthesiology-resuscitation team was invited from the Republican Hospital. While providing emergency care the doctor of the arrived team injured the patient’s subclavian vein and parietal pleura. The maternity patient died.

According to experts, the doctor-resuscitator violated a methodology of the medical procedure having failed to provide a participation of an X-ray laboratory specialist and a surgeon in it. The mother of the deceased through the prosecutor's office demanded to collect from the hospitals a monetary compensation. The court ordered medical institutions to pay women 500 thousand rubles for moral injury compensation and funeral expenses in the amount of 80 thousand rubles.
