Bashkiria proposes to create a priority development area in Limpopo

UFA, 26 January 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. Bashkortostan is willing to create a priority development area in Limpopo within the framework of BRICS cooperation between Russia and South Africa. This was stated by the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov in an interview with "Industrial and Commercial Gazette" and the Russian Business Guide.
“We have outlined good prospects for cooperation with the South African province of Limpopo, where the mining industry and agro-industrial complex are developed. We offer our partners to create a promising business model in Limpopo - a territory of priority development”, said Rustem Khamitov. “Our republic is ready to export technology in the field of industry, agriculture, management. This mutually beneficial cooperation will enable achieving tangible results as soon as possible.”
According to the Head of the Republic, another area of cooperation could be collaboration with the universities of Bashkortostan, primarily USPTU and USATU, which are ready not only to teach students from South Africa, but also to provide scientific support to projects in the field of industry.
Currently in Bashkortostan a project on localization of articulated dump trucks production by the South African company Bell is being implemented. A presentation of the prototype truck was held in the framework of the BRICS Summit in July 2015. Now the dumps are tested in Uchaly Mining Plant.
“In the case of the Republic of South Africa the main issue is logistics, transport connection. We are working on this problem and searching for ways to solve it,” marked Rustem Khamitov.
