Bashkortostan population totaled 4,071,181 people - Rosstat

According to the data of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), as of January 1, 2016, the population totaled 4,071,181 people in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Of these, the urban population was 2,515,280 people, rural - 1 555 901. In the past year, the number of residents of the republic was more by 403 people.

According to the calculations of statisticians Bashkortostan is in the lead in the Volga Federal District in terms of population, Tatarstan is on the second place (3,868,537 people), the Nizhny Novgorod region (3,258,645) in on the third.
