"Swine flu" cases are not registered in Bashkiria - Rospotrebnadzor

UFA, 20 January 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Cases of influenza, including the so-called "swine flu" are not registered in Bashkortostan, the Directorate of Rospotrebnadzor in the Republic reports.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, at present in the republic the number of cases of acute respiratory diseases is marked at non-epidemic level. Parainfluenza viruses and adenoviruses are defined in patients at the laboratory studies.
But, as noted by the deputy chief of the epidemiological surveillance of Rospotrebnadzor RB Zuhra Shagieva the epidemic rise in incidence of flu and SARS usually rises in the republic in February and March.
Over the past week the incidence of influenza and SARS has increased significantly in a number of regions of the Russian Federation. The laboratory studies define the pandemic influenza H1N1 (the so-called "swine flu"). A feature of this strain of influenza virus is its ability in a very short time, within 2-3 days from the beginning of the disease, to cause complications of severe pneumonia that can be fatal. It is strongly recommended to stay at home and call a doctor at the signs of the disease.
According to experts, the traditional disease prevention is vaccination, but if someone has not had time to do it, now it is not recommended to be vaccinated. In the period from September to December 2015 over a million people were vaccinated in the republic.
