Ufa juniors will take part in the International Children's Winter Games in Austria

UFA, 12 January 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Young athletes from Ufa will take part in the 7th International Children's Winter Games in Austria (Innsbruck), which will be held from January 12 to 15. Ufa in four sports will be presented by 16 children aged 12-14 years. These are skiers, snowboarders, skaters and biathletes, the press service of the city administration informs.

Total, the International Children's Games program includes eight sports: alpine skiing, biathlon, cross country skiing, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, speed skating, ice hockey and figure skating. The competitions will be attended by delegations from 54 cities and 22 countries. Apart from Ufa, Russia will be also represented by Novouralsk and Petrozavodsk.

According to the deputy head of Ufa administration Syntimir Bayazitov, the current team has a very difficult task - to keep the high standard set earlier by its compatriots. So, in 2015 at the Summer ICG in the Netherlands young athletes from Bashkortostan won 13 medals. Then representatives of Ufa gymnastics and Tuimazy swimmers showed very good results. The capital of the republic had eight medals (five gold, one silver and two bronze) on its count, Tuimazy atheltes won five awards (two gold and silver, one bronze).
