Day of Reserves and National Parks is celebrated in Russia

UFA, 11 January 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. Today Russia celebrates the Day of Reserves and National Parks. In our republic the creation of specially protected areas is a traditional and effective form of nature conservation.

Currently in the region there are 218 specially protected areas of various levels and categories. According to the Ministry of Environment of Bashkortostan, four natural parks, 27 state nature reserves and 182 monuments of nature are related to the protected areas of republican level.

In 2015 it was approved a concept of development of protected areas in the republic for 2016-2020. The Government of Bashkortostan signed a corresponding resolution.

According to head of the protected areas and biodiversity conservation department of the Ministry of Environment RB Elvira Kurbanaeva, implementation of the concept will preserve unique natural objects, will enable to create centres of ecological tourism with the corresponding services thereby ensuring their dynamic development.
