Cases of malaria brought from Goa and Angola reported in Bashkortostan

UFA, 11 January 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. In Bashkortostan in November-December last year, three cases of malaria brought from Goa (India) and Angola (Africa) were registered, the press centre of the Rospotrebnadzor Directorate in the region informs.

In order to prevent malaria Bashkir tourists need to take anti-malarial drugs before traveling abroad. If there are signs of sickness after returning from areas endemic for malaria, you should immediately consult a doctor and inform about visiting these countries.

The ministry informs that annually up to 200 million cases of malaria are registered in the world, of which about 600,000 are fatal. A large number of cases are registered in our country from November to January. This is due to winter holidays of Russians in tropical countries.
