In the opening match the teams of Russia and Sweden met. The players of HC Salavat Yulaev (Ufa) - Igor Grigorenko, Nikolai Prokhorkin played as part of the Russian national team and Linus Umark with Andreas Engqvist of the Swedish team.

In the national team of Sweden Linus Umark made two assists, and the Swedes won - 4: 1.

In the second match of the day the team of Finland defeated the Czech team with the score 3: 0.

The Russian national team will play the next match against Finland on December 19.
