Ufa, Sterlitamak and Kumertau are among the best cities for children in Russia

The 6th All-Russian competition "Cities for Children" took place in Moscow held by the Fund to Support Children in cooperation with the Association of Small and Medium-sized Cities in Russia. On December 11, the Federation Council hosted the final meeting of the competition committee, which defined the leaders of this unique event, which was attended by 131 cities from 51 regions of the Russian Federation. Among the winners of the competition were Bashkortostan cities of Ufa, Sterlitamak and Kumertau.

The competition was held under the slogan "Different Children are Important!". The Chairwoman of the committee, vice-speaker of the Federation Council Galina Karelova noted the importance of the competition "to create children friendly environment in each city".

Cities competed with each other in development of mentoring and various programs for children.

In the major categories among the cities - administrative centres of the Russian Federation, the city of Arkhangelsk (first place), Izhevsk (second place) and Volgograd (third place) were recognized the leaders. Among the cities with a population of 100 thousand people or more winners were Syzran (first place), Sterlitamak (second place) and Bataysk (Rostov region, third place). Among the cities with a population from 20 thousand to 100 thousand people winners were Livny (Oryol Region, the first place), Berezovsky (Sverdlovsk region, second place), Vilyuchinsk (Kamchatka Territory) and Kumertau (Republic of Bashkortostan, third place). Among the cities with a population of less than 20 thousand people Kratovo (Moscow Region), Totma (Vologda region), Rakitnoe (Belgorod region) and Boguchar (Voronezh region) were marked.

The city of Ufa was also marked with a prize and diploma of the contest for high quality of competitive tasks, and it was the leader in the online voting on the portal "I am a Parent".

The awarding ceremony will take place in the Federation Council in Moscow on December 22.
