Residents of Bashkortostan to determine the need for single colour of taxi

UFA, 15 December 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. Residents of Bashkortostan will be able to decide themselves whether the republic needs taxis of a single colour. Earlier, deputies of the State Assembly RB completed the yellow taxi colour with white and black, but such amendments to the law were not suitable for all carriers. The proposal to put this issue on public discussion will be discussed at the final this year session of the republican parliament on December 24.

As the Chairman of the State Assembly, Konstantin Tolkachev underlines, a significant number of car owners who are engaged as private taxi drivers, are now in the shadow due to the introduction of specific colour of taxi. Refusal of colour restrictions will legalize business of many carriers and will enable authorities to control their activities.

The Chairwoman of the State Assembly Committee for Housing Policy and Infrastructure Development Elena Rodina reported that Bashkortostan residents would be able to express their opinions on the website «Open Republic». The poll will last for one month.
