"Maternity capital" program is extended until the end of 2018

UFA, 15 December 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. The Russian Government approved the draft law of the Russian Federation Ministry of Labour to extend the maternity capital program for two years. "This means that those families, in which the second child or subsequent children will be born or adopted up to 31 December 2018 inclusive, will be eligible for maternity capital", the press-service of the agency quoted the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Maxim Topilin.

According to preliminary estimates, the spending of the federal budget for these purposes can amount to 324.2 billion rubles in 2017, 340.6 billion rubles in 2018.

It is scheduled to consider the bill in the State Duma on December 18 this year.

The Russian President Vladimir Putin stated the necessity of such a step in spite of the difficult economic situation in the country and the budget deficit in his address to the Federal Assembly on December 3. According to the President, the program has already helped to improve the financial position of 6.5 million Russian families (including in Crimea and Sevastopol).
