In Bashkortostan cancer incidence increased by 11%

UFA, 15 December 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. In Bashkortostan Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal Consumer Rights Protection and Human Health Control Service) Directorate published statistics of morbidity and mortality from cancer for 2010-2014. The analysis is based on data from the republican Ministry of Health. Last year, cancer incidence increased by almost 11% and amounted to an average of 1884 cases per 100 thousand people. The index ranges from 742 in Baymak region to 3000 in Salavat.
The breast cancer (12.4%) is leading in the structure of morbidity. This type of cancer until 2005 was the fourth, since 2003 became the second, and in 2011 took the first place.
The second place is occupied by the cancer of trachea, bronchus, lung (11.3%), the third - the skin malignancies (9.6%), the fourth - prostate cancer (8.4%).
The cancer death rate has increased by 8% for five years. In 2014, 5686 of cancer patients died, 27 of them were minors. Malignant respiratory diseases take the first place in the structure of mortality (18.6%), the stomach (11%) - the second, the breast (9%) - the third.
Cancer rates in children over five years have decreased by 21.6% and amounted last year to 11.6 per 100 thousand child population (under 14 years).
