Residents of Bashkortostan will see starfall on the night from December 13 to 14

UFA, 7 December 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/.Residents of Bashkortostan will be able to observe the abundant Geminids meteor shower on the night from December 13 to 14. The shower rate will be up to 100 meteors per hour, said the chief specialist of Ufa Planetarium Tamara Denisova.

Geminids meteors are distinguished by high brightness. The stream does not fly towards the Earth, but catches up with it, because the rate of meteors is low (about 35 km/s).

One of the most prominent meteor showers can be seen from December 6 to 19, with the maximum power reaching on the night of December 14. Radiant is located in the Gemini constellation. The beautiful astronomical phenomenon can be seen in the second half of the night. To monitor the starfall it is better to leave the city, they advised in the planetarium.
