Bashkortostan presentation was held at Chinese Embassy in Russia

UFA, 1 December 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. On November 30, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation hosted a presentation of the industrial and tourist potential of the Republic of Bashkortostan. It was attended by representatives of the business community and officials. Rustem Khamitov, the Head of Bashkortostan and Li Hui, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Russia greeted the participants of the presentation.
“Excellent work on organization of the Summits, hospitality of local people made a deep impression on the delegation of China and other countries, and brought global fame to Ufa”, said Mr. Ambassador. “We are pleased to see that in recent years the republic’s cooperation with China in various fields is constantly expanding. As a significant member of the cooperation mechanism between regions of the upper, the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the Volga Federal District, the republic has active contacts with China. The Chinese-Russian relations are the best in the history of the period under the current complex and continuous changes.”
“Actually, we are very actively started working, and for the last two months have held major events between our republic and the provinces of the People's Republic of China”, said Rustem Khamitov. “We have more than 10 upcoming projects, including large ones - construction of a metallurgical plant, enterprise for agricultural raw materials processing, food products production and construction materials manufacture. Moreover, businessmen from China offer to build cultural centres, trading houses in our republic. We are working very extensively and we have no doubt that many of these projects will start to be implemented in 2016.”
The People’s Republic of China takes the 5th place among the countries - trade partners of Bashkortostan with a relative share of 4.8 percent. The national foreign trade turnover with China in 2014 amounted to 685.1 million dollars, with 79 percent of this amount (541.5 million dollars) accounted for export.
Among exported from Bashkortostan to China products there are turbojet engines (49 percent), oil and oil products (26 percent), chemical products (15 percent), helicopters (9 percent), sulfur, honey and other goods. The main imports positions are different equipment (54 percent) - valves, trucks, pumps, casting machines, electrical equipment; as well as plastics and products made of them (18 percent), other chemical products (9 percent), metal products (6 percent) - drill pipes, pipes for oil and gas pipelines; canned fruits and vegetables (6 percent), textiles, footwear and other products.
There are a number of agreements on cooperation between the Government of Bashkortostan and the provinces of Heilongjiang, Liaoning and Jiangxi.
