Whole republic will be engaged in Folkloriada 2020 - Head of Bashkortostan

UFA, 22 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency/. The World Folkloriada will be held in Ufa in 2020 due to the SCO and BRICS summits held in Ufa in July and becoming "hallmark" of our region. The entire republic will be involved in this festival. This was said in an interview with TASS by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.

"We would like to conduct major international events. In search of new formats we came out with an offer to hold the event, which is called Folkloriada. The Council, which determines the next festival venue, looked up our materials and listened to reports of our representatives. They concluded that everything looked quite decent. Of course, people were convinced by the argument that we had hosted the SCO and BRICS Summits. It was a "hallmark" of our territory. The Council unanimously voted for holding the festival in Bashkortostan", Rustem Khamitov said.

Speaking about the possible costs of Folkloriada, he explained that they "will be small, because the requirements for this kind of festivals are quite modest. Venues are usually open air, open stages and not some huge premises". In the next four years the republic will have to take an active part in preparatory work for Folkloriada. It is necessary to put in order and unify the scenic areas throughout the republic, to continue accomplishment of cities and regions. "Such a task is set to the Government of the Republic and all municipalities", Rustem Khamitov said.

Speaking of other international forums, which in the future may be hosted by the republic Rustem Khamitov noted that Bashkortostan had applied to host the Eurasian Women's Forum 2018. The bid is now being considered. In the summer of 2019 the region claims to hold the International Children's Games.

"We compete for hosting a major forum of beekeepers in the world in 2021. This event is called "Apimondia" - a large venue, which includes participation of 12 thousand people from 120-130 countries. This is a huge forum and exhibition. I am confident that we have good chances to get it”, said Rustem Khamitov.

"Who does not know the Bashkir honey? It's our brand. We would like this brand to be rightfully number one in the Russian Federation", added the Head of Bashkortostan.
