Electric transport monitoring system is implemented in Ufa

UFA, 19 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/. Ufa Directorate of Electric Transport completed works on equipping the entire fleet with navigation equipment. Now every tram and trolley bus is connected to the GLONASS system, the press service of the Ufa City Hall informs.

As the CEO of municipal unitary enterprise "Directorate of Electric Transport of Ufa City" Askar Fazlyev marks, similar monitoring systems of electric transport are introduced in Chelyabinsk, Orenburg and other Russian cities, and have already proved their effectiveness. In Ufa, the project was implemented at the expense of investors.

The system includes the navigation, control and processing centres. The navigation equipment installed in trams and trolley buses sends data on the location of vehicles into a single control room where dispatchers track the movement of electric transport and analyze passenger traffic.

Citizens also can track the movement of trolleybuses and trams. It is possible to do it using the mobile application "Smart Transport" available for all Android and iOS devices. A map of traffic is available on the updated website "Directorate of Electric Transport of Ufa City" in the section "For Passengers". It can also be found on the public portal of the GLONASS system.
