Rustem Khamitov has held a meeting of Supervisory Board of Bashkir regional branch RGS

On October 14, at the House of Government of the republic the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov chaired a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Bashkir regional branch of the All-Russian public organization "Russian Geographical Society" (RGS).

“Our republic is surely a very good area for productive work of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society. We have monuments of nature, nature reserves and biosphere reserves - we have everything”, Rustem Khamitov said. “In addition, we are working on a large program for tourism development. It is already making progress – a number of tourists visiting our republic is growing. We believe that this growth will increase and strengthen year by year.”

The Director of the Regional Development Department of the Executive Directorate of the Russian Geographical Society, Alexander Hatckevich spoke about the goals and objectives of the RGS, the main of which were the study of geography and related sciences, nature protection, tourism development, promotion of scientific and research activities in the community and, especially, among young people.

“It would like to thank you, Rustem Zakievich, for the establishment of the RGS regional branch in Bashkortostan”, addressed to the Head of the Republic Alexander Hatckevich. “It will allow implementing a number of projects for recognizability of your republic nationwide and globally, as well as enhancing patriotic spirit of youth.”

The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov supported initiatives of RGS active members and approved an action plan for the coming year having made an instruction to create primary branches of the society in each municipality.
