Integrated bicycle paths network will be developed in Ufa by 2018

UFA, 9 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arthur Basyrov/. In Ufa, an integrated network of bicycle paths will be developed by 2018. This was announced today at a press conference by the mayor of the capital of the republic Irek Yalalov. According to him, the construction of bike lanes in the city is going ahead of schedule.

"We build bicycle paths as sections. Sometimes we are accused that a bicycle lane has a length of 200 m and leads nowhere. Right, it leads nowhere so far. Because then we will proceed to the next section. And by 2018, an integrated network of bicycle paths will be developed. Because it cannot be done on an old broken sidewalk or street where we have not started the system reconstruction yet", said Irek Yalalov.

He noted that now Ufa together with Moscow is the absolute leader in construction of bicycle paths. At this point works are being conducted on paving a bicycle path along Mendeleyev Street in the capital, through which it can be easily travelled from Inors neighborhood to the "President Hotel".
