Ufa may host the World Philosophy Congress in 2023

UFA, 7 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. Ufa may host the World Philosophy Congress to be held in 2023. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov addressed with such proposal to the Secretary General of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies, Professor Luca Maria Scarantino during the plenary session of the 7th Russian Philosophy Congress conducted in Ufa.

“Now the Secretary General of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies came up to me and said: "If the Russian Philosophical Society makes a bid, addresses with such a request to the International Philosophical Community, we will consider a possibility of Ufa hosting the World Congress of Philosophy in 2023". That would be wonderful, great event and "the triumph of ideas" for the whole of Russia”, Rustem Khamitov told reporters.

The President of the Russian Philosophical Society Vyacheslav Stepin confirmed that such bid would be prepared.

In addition, currently it is being discussed the Eurasian Congress of Philosophy holding in Ufa as a stage before the World Congress of Philosophy.
