About 75 thousand education workers celebrate their professional holiday in Bashkortostan

UFA, 5 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Teachers of Bashkortostan, like their counterparts all over Russia, celebrate their professional holiday today. According to the Ministry of Education RB, about 75 thousand employees are currently engaged in the education sector. More than 35 thousand of them work in general education institutions.

As Bashkortostan Statistics Agency informs, the educational level of teachers of day-schools in the region is quite high - 90% of teachers have a university degree.

From 4,5 thousand teachers of professional educational organizations 96% have higher education. Of 6.5 thousand representatives of the teaching staff of universities 1031 lecturers have the degree of Doctor of Science, 3886 – Candidate of Science, 705 people have the title of Professor, 2178 – of Assistant Professor.

Most of the school teachers are women (87%). Among the teachers of vocational education institutions 77% are women, among the teaching staff of universities their number is 58%.

Every second teacher has experience of more than 20 years.

The Teacher's Day is celebrated in more than 100 countries. Russia since 1994 marks it according to the international calendar - on October 5th. Earlier, the Teacher's Day fell on the first Sunday of October, calend.ru informs.
