Festival of Science in Ufa was attended by over 40 thousand people

UFA, 30 September 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. The Festival of Science in Ufa, which took place in the Bashkir capital from September 25 to 27, brought together more than 40 thousand people. Senior schoolchildren, younger pupils accompanied by their parents, and students came to get acquainted with science.

This year for the first time Ufa became the central regional area of the All-Russian Festival of Science and attraction for scientists of Volga Federal District. At the same time visitors of the festival were welcomed at 17 venues of the city, the main of which was the Academy of Sciences RB and Bashkortostan Concert Hall. The events of the festival were supported by higher education institutions and their branches in the republic, museums, Botanical Garden and Planetarium. According to the executive director of the Fund for Support and Development of Science RB, the regional organizer of the All-Russian Festival of Science Ruslan Shaimukhametov, Ufa brought together about two thousand residents of other cities of the republic.

Meanwhile, four years ago, the system of science popularization was not available in Ufa. Then it was not included in the duties of the Academy of Sciences RB.

"In 2013, the Science Festival was held in Ufa for the first time. Then, on the same venue five thousand participants gathered. This event caused a wide resonance. It inspired us and we engaged our colleagues, friends, and professionals from other regions in the organization of the next festival. Last year, it was conducted even on a larger scale. There was achieved a record of Russia in number of participants of "What? Where? When? "game. It was attended by 1200 people", said the rector of the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University Ramil Bakhtizin.

The Festival of Science in Ufa, according to Ramil Bakhtizin, can be named one more brand of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
