Anatoly Wasserman called for changes in education system at the Ufa Festival of Science

At the Festival of Science, which was held these days in Ufa, a visiting guest Anatoly Wasserman, speaking to the participants, spoke about the need for changes in the education system. The renowned scholar, writer and political consultant insists very often in his speeches that all reforms of the education system undertaken since 1975 should be canceled.

"Previously it was thought that the task of education is to teach a man to see the world as a whole, and then on the basis of this holistic view of the world to study in-depth the parts that are related to the chosen activity. Unfortunately, over the past few decades, the education system just turned in the opposite direction", Wasserman is sure.

The erudite believes that such a system of education, first of all, is terribly unprofitable. The consultant answered a logical question why education had turned into such a direction: "Because the holistic view of the world is very helpful to those who have it, and is very harmful to those who want to manipulate. Business and politics around the world put pressure on education with terrible force achieving that it does not create, but on the contrary, destroys a complete view of the world and turn people into a herd powerless before a shepherd".

Wasserman is convinced that the existing system of education should be returned to the state, which was formed in the 19th century in the German states and brought to perfection in the Soviet Union in the middle of the 20th century. And on this basis it is necessary to carry out further improvement of the information enhancement, said the publicist.
