Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has finished his visit to Kyrgyz Republic

UFA, 23 September 2015. /Bashinform News Agency/. Today the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has finished his official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic. The Head of the Region delivered a speech at the 4th Bishkek Kyrgyz-Russian Inter-Regional Conference "Eurasian Economic Union. New Prospects for Interregional Cooperation", where the economic and investment potential of our republic was presented. The Head of the Region noted that Bashkortostan was one of the leading industrial, scientific, educational and cultural centres of the Russian Federation, stressing that "strengthening international ties with our partners is a priority". Speaking about the cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, Rustem Khamitov marked that currently there was an active exchange of official and business delegations. As a result, only for the first half of the year imports exceeded the last year figures.

The important areas of cooperation between Bashkortostan and Kyrgyzstan are also culture, tourism, education and science, according to Rustem Khamitov. For many years Bashkortostan realizes remarkable cultural projects, organizes international music, theatre, song festivals, in which Kyrgyzstan teams also take part.

Many institutions of higher education in Bashkortostan, which are quite highly rated at the international level, are working closely with the leading universities of Kyrgyzstan in exchange of teachers, scientists and students and joint research. Young people from Kyrgyzstan study at Bashkir State University, Pedagogical, Medical, Aviation, Petroleum and Agricultural Universities. Cooperation as part of TURKSOY Department opened at Bashkir Pedagogical University is actively developing.
