New flu vaccine was developed in Ufa

UFA, 27 August 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. In Ufa specialists of the "Immunopreparat" pharmaceutical company have developed a new flu vaccine. The drug invented in the Ufa branch of the "Microgen" Research and Production Association this year will be used for free vaccination of population as part of the national calendar of preventive vaccinations.

Clinical studies of "Sovigripp" showed no toxicity and fever along with a good ability to form specific immunity against the influenza virus. The new vaccine is designed for active annual preventive immunization against seasonal flu in people aged 18 to 60 years.

The immunobiological drug received approval and recommendation of the Russian medical community. The patent holder "Microgen" Research and Production Association was awarded the diploma of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property for the development of «flu vaccine and its method of preparation" in the "100 Best Inventions of Russia" category, the press service of the company informs.
