"Russian Wikipedia" is blocked and its Bashkir analogue is available

UFA, 25 August 2015. /Bashinform News Agency,Arthur Basyrov/. From today "Russian Wikipedia" is not available for the majority of Russians, and its Bashkir analogue is available. In Bashkiria the internet encyclopedia stopped working since Tuesday night.

Roskomnadzor required blocking one of the pages of the electronic encyclopedia, which describes information on prohibited drugs. As reported by RIA Novosti as "Wikipedia" uses an encrypted protocol, operators cannot allocate only one page, and the whole resource has been blocked. The leadership of the online encyclopedia intends to appeal the decision by Roskomnadzor.

It should be noted that the blocking did not affect the work of "Bashkir Wikipedia", it is available to all users.
