Search groups lifted remains of World War II pilot from the bottom of Neva - native of Bashkortostan

UFA, 20 August 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. Search groups lifted from the bottom of the river Neva fragments of the IL-2 and the remains of a pilot of World War II - a native of Bashkortostan. The place of falling was discovered already in July, when it was carried out an extraction of the remains by members of the search group "Mga". Unfortunately, it was not managed to identify the deceased then.
As the head of the republican branch of the "Search movement of Russia" Vladimir Volkov informed, lifting of the IL-2 fragments from the river was completed the day before due to the help rendered by the director of the "Museum of the Battle of Leningrad" Oleg Titbery.
As it was established, the plane crashed into the Neva while performing a combat mission on October 24, 1941. It was fired by anti-aircraft artillery. The deceased pilot was Semen Fedorovich Konobevtsev, 1907 year of birth. The senior lieutenant was a native of the village Rayevsky, Bashkiria.
