Most popular sights are identified in Ufa

UFA, 19 August 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. The mobile application «Yandex.Progulki» determined the most popular sights in Ufa. According to the rating, the most favourite place of citizens and guests of the capital is the Monument to Salavat Yulaev. The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is on the second place, the Monument of Friendship is the third most popular. It is these places of interest which are visited and photographed by tourists and locals more than others.

The application was launched in June this year and is available only for iOS users. The modern mobile guide will help you to find interesting places in many cities of Russia. The database contains information about more than 80 sights and cities.

The idea of "beauty crowdsourcing" is at the heart of «Yandex.Progulki». People often take pictures of remarkable places and are eager to share photos online. The program analyzes the tens of millions of geo-referenced photos from different sources, and groups all the images of the same object. Then, the algorithm finds information from other sources by geographical coordinates, patches duplicates and adds the description of objects and background information, which is taken from the database of Yandex.
