More than 37,000 residents of Bashkortostan participated in the "Clean Banks to Our Rivers and Lakes!" All-Russia Campaign

UFA, 13 August 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. Over 37 thousand residents of Bashkortostan participated in the All-Russia Campaign "Clean Banks to Our Rivers and Lakes!". The Ministry of Nature Management and Ecology RB reports the results of cleaning events organized in the region.

753 water bodies were cleared of waste within the large-scale campaign from June 1 to July 31. The total area of cleaning was more than 8 million square metres.

The most popular places of cleaning became the river Agidel in Burzyan and Kugarchy regions, the river Big Ik in Belokatay and Mechetlino regions, the river Kama in Krasnokamsk regions, Lakes Aslykul Kandrykul, the river Agidel in the cities of Ufa, Salavat and Kumertau.

The "Clean Banks to Our Rivers and Lakes!" campaign is held in Russia since 2002. The organizers of the campaign in the republic were territorial departments and committees of the Ministry of Nature Management and Ecology in cooperation with the administrations of municipalities and urban districts.
