Archaeologists from Hungary seeking for roots of their people in Bashkiria

UFA, 11 August 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. In Bashkortostan a scientific expedition of archeologists arrived from Hungary. According to one popular theory, ancestors of this nation lived in the territory of our republic. Archaeologists shared the details about the purpose of research at a press conference in Bashinform News Agency on August 10.

As the head of Uelga expedition, Doctor Of Historical Sciences Sergey Botalov informs, Russian-Hungarian scientists have been conducting research at the funerary complex Uelga of IX - XI centuries for already six years. The monument located in the territory of Kunashak area of Chelyabinsk region is a unique object. Materials having direct parallels with the monuments of the Carpathian Basin of the time of gaining new homeland by Hungarians are very important component.

This year, the program of the expedition included a tour over monuments and noteworthy sites of the Southern Urals. The guests have already visited Birsk and "Ufa ancient settlement -II». Now they will go to Shulgan-Tash cave, then will visit Arkaim.

PhD, an archaeologist from Hungary Attila Turk also believes it a real assumption that the ancestors of the Hungarians lived in the southern Urals. According to him, the delegation came to study not only the materials but also a method of work of Bashkir colleagues.
