Most of USPTU applicants want to work for oil extraction companies

UFA, 6 August 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. An enrollment campaign comes to an end at Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (USPTU). On August 4, the university published an order on enrollment.

As the USPTU press centre reports, this year over 21 000 applications were submitted, but not all wishing to study at the prestigious university became happy freshmen.

1,050 people will study on bachelor and specialties programs. The companies, with which contracts on target enrollment were concluded, were mainly represented by subsidiaries of "Gazprom" and "Transneft". Geography of companies lies within the Volga Federal District. Another 30 students were enrolled within the special quota.

The total competition was seven people per place at USPTU. The highest competition (15) was recorded at "Operation and Maintenance of Oil Extraction Facilities" course.
