Ufa hosts IV Trade Union Forum BRICS

UFA, 9 July 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In the House of Trade Unions of Ufa the 4th Trade Union Forum is held, which is attended by representatives of the BRICS countries.

As reported earlier by Bashinform News Agency, during the plenary session of leaders of trade unions a Declaration of the Trade Union Forum was adopted. The Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia Mikhail Shmakov handed over the document to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin during a meeting of the Russian leader with representatives of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa during the International Summits in the Bashkir capital.

According to Mikhail Shmakov, the most important thing in the Declaration is that “we support a number of initiatives put forward by the leaders of the BRICS countries, in particular the establishment of independent financial institutions, to assist development and independent investment for any country of the BRICS".

The Trade Union Forum is attended by 18 national trade unions of Russia, Brazil, China, India, South Africa. The BRICS trade unions activities in difficult socio-economic realities are on the agenda of the evening plenary session.
