Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Ufa

UFA, 8 July 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. On July 8, the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping arrived in Bashkortostan. At the Ufa Airport he was met by the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov, the press service of the Head of the Region informs.

In the capital of Bashkortostan Xi Jinping will attend the Summit of Heads of States and Governments of the BRICS and the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The People's Republic of China takes the fifth place among the countries - trade partners of Bashkortostan with a relative share of 4.8%. The republican trade turnover with China in 2014 amounted to 685.1 million dollars, with 79% of this amount (541.5 million dollars) accounted for export.

Among the products exported from Bashkortostan to China there are turbojet engines (49%), oil and oil products (26%), chemical products (15%), helicopters (9%), sulfur, honey and other goods. The main positions of import are occupied by different equipment (54%) - valves, trucks, pumps, casting machines, electrical equipment; as well as plastics and products made of them (18%), other chemical products (9 percent), metal products (6%) - drill pipes, pipes for oil and gas pipelines; canned fruit and vegetables (6%), textiles, footwear and other products.

18 enterprises created with the participation of Chinese capital operate in the territory of the republic and are engaged in various sectors of industry and commerce. There are a number of cooperation agreements between Bashkortostan and governments of Heilongjiang, Liaoning and Jiangxi provinces.
