13 years have passed since the day of crash over Boden See

UFA, 2 July 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. Today, on July 2, it is 13 years since a tragic plane crash over Boden See. On the night of July 1 to 2, 2002 at 23.35 local time the Russian airliner Tu-154 M of Bashkir airlines and cargo Boeing-757 of DHL postal service collided in the skies over Germany, near the German town of Ueberlingen. Due to a fatal error of flight operations officer of the Swiss company SkyGuide 71 people, including 52 children were killed in the crash. Most children of the Moscow - Barcelona flight were from Bashkortostan, they flew to Spain on holiday.
Almost all dead children and members of the crew of the aircraft were buried in the South Cemetery in Ufa. The graves are arranged as their seats in the airplane. Also a memorial was opened in the cemetery depicting cranes flying off into the sky. The monument to the lost crew was established at the Ufa Airport. Local authorities erected a monument «Die zerrissene Perlenkette» - «Broken string of pearls» in the city of Ueberlingen over which the crash occurred. Every year, the memorial services and laying flowers ceremonies are held at all the memorials.
