Rustem Khamitov has inspected reconstruction progress of Ufa railway station

UFA, 26 June 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Iliya Spiridonov/. On June 26, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov inspected readiness of Ufa railway station to receive guests at the SCO and BRICS Summits. The Head of the Republic examined the renovation progress of the first floor of the railway station, passenger platform and a pedestrian tunnel.

Vitaly Votolevsky, the Head of Directorate of Railway Stations - branch of JSC "Russian Railways" reported that 88 surveillance cameras integrated into a single system of railway stations monitoring in Russia had been installed at the station.

According to Vitaly Votolevsky all station facilities needed to serve the guests during the SCO and BRICS Summit are ready.

During the inspection Rustem Khamitov noted that unreconstructed platforms did not fit into the modern railway station complex. The Head of the Regional Directorate of the Kuibyshev Railway Stations Andrey Komarovsky said that the works at the site were scheduled for completion in the following year.

In the course of the first stage of works at the facility, the reconstruction of the second floor of the main building with the station forecourt was conducted. A concourse to the main building of the station was built and equipped. A public transport interchange was established and other works were carried out.

Currently, the first phase of the reconstruction of the station continues, which is scheduled to finish in December 2015. JSC "Russian Railways" allocates 258 million rubles for this purpose.

After visiting the station Rustem Khamitov inspected the reconstruction progress of Verhnetorgovaya Square.
