International Yoga Day gathered more than 300 participants in Ufa

UFA, 22 June 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. More than 300 participants gathered for International Yoga Day in Ufa. Master-class of Indian and Ufa yoga teachers were held at the sports complex «Biathlon» yesterday, the official website of the city administration informs.

The training program included meditation, breathing exercises - pranayama, health complexes, master classes, as well as treats with "divine food" - prasad.

The event was supported by the Embassy of India in the Russian Federation and the majority of yoga centres of the capital. As the first secretary of the Embassy, Mr. Deval marked, sports and festive events on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga were organized in more than 60 regions of Russia. He also expressed gratitude for the active participation of Ufa townspeople: "Such a large number of yoga enthusiasts in Ufa indicates that Russians love the Indian culture".

According to the deputy head of Ufa administration Syntimir Bayazitov "Residents of Ufa with great pleasure practice yoga today as yoga programs are offered almost by all fitness centres of our city. In Ufa there are 13 specialized centres that teach different directions of yoga for adults and children. We are regularly visited by teachers from India, who conduct trainings and seminars".

The International Yoga Day was proclaimed by UN General Assembly on June 21. Yoga means striving to control your body, psyche and physiological functions, which is achieved through special exercises.
