Large-scale All-Russian campaign "Vaccination - Healthy Nation" was presented in Ufa

UFA, 10 June 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. A large-scale All-Russian campaign "Vaccination - Healthy Nation" was presented in Ufa. The information marathon was organized by the National Association of Controlling Infections Associated with Health Care, the Russian Agency of Medical and Social Information AMI under the auspices of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

Educational seminars for journalists, press conferences and displays of scientific films about preventive vaccination were already held in Moscow, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk as part of the federal campaign. Presentation of the project in Ufa was visited by media representatives of the Volga Federal District. Authoritative experts, representatives of the regional Ministry of Health answered the journalists' questions. The Associate Professor, Department of Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, the secretary of relevant commission on epidemiology, Roman Polibin marked that the history of global preventive vaccination extended back over 220 years. And due to modern immunoprophylaxis millions of lives are saved, hundreds of thousands of children do not become disabled, and life expectancy is increased.

The situation of the infectious disease incidence and immunization coverage throughout the Volga Federal District is better than in Russia as a whole. Including in the Republic of Bashkortostan, due to the active immunization of local residents not a single case of diphtheria, polio, tetanus, rubella was revealed. The incidence of tuberculosis, hepatitis B, meningococcal disease decreased for the last year, the head physician of the Republican Centre of AIDS and Infectious Diseases Rafael Yapparov said. In 2014, the republican doctors made about 3.5 million vaccinations from infections such as tuberculosis, hepatitis, encephalitis, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, measles, rubella, typhoid, mumps, tularemia, pneumococcal and haemophilic diseases, rabies, human papilloma virus and influenza. All these vaccinations against infections are included in the national calendar of preventive vaccinations and the calendar of epidemiological indications.
